We thank you for joining us at Mods R Us as we look back at the awesome series that is BioShock. Today we have the last entry in this series so once again dive down to Rapture and soar up to Columbia!
BioShock Collection (2016) Pc, Xbox One, Ps4While there has not been an actual new BioShock game for a few years. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners would be able to get in on the action in 2016 when 2K games released, BioShock: The Collection! This was a collection that was rumored for quite some time and leaks from international retailers would result in 2K having to announce the game earlier than they would have liked.
As you probably know, BioShock The Collection features all three BioShock games and all of their DLC. It is the ultimate BioShock set and for fans of the series, it was awesome having all three games, plus the DLC in one package. The games, BioShock 1 and 2 especially had been given a lick of paint and seeing Rapture in all its HD glory was something many fans got a real kick out of. BioShock Infinite was given the least “attention” but to be fair this was already a fantastic looking game so not as much had to be done to Infinite in order to bring it up to PS4 and Xbox One standards graphically.
BioShock The Collection would come on two discs with the first disc having BioShock 1 and 2 on it and the second disc having BioShock Infinite on it. Interestingly, the same box art is used for both discs.
Right now if you want the best way to experience the BioShock saga, BioShock The Collection is the way to do it. You get all the games, looking better than they ever have before and you even get all the DLC! It is one of the best collections currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and a must have for both systems.
We are glamming things up a bit today as we look at another fantastic entry in the Grand Theft Auto series!
Grand Theft Auto The Ballad Of Gay Tony (2009/10) Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PCThe Ballad Of Gay Tony was the final GTA IV expansion pack and the third Grand Theft Auto release in 2009! First released on Xbox 360, The Ballad Of Gay Tony would be released on PC and PlayStation 3 the following year.
This is regarded as one of the best entries in the GTA series. This expansion sees you playing the role of Luis Fernando Lopez who is the personal bodyguard to the flamboyant, Gay Tony who is the owner of the largest nightclubs in Liberty City and also a socialite, overcome the obstacles in his life ranging from drug deals and contracts on his life. The story is just fantastic and has much more glitz and glamour than GTA IV and the Lost And The Damned. Gay Tony was already one of the more memorable characters from GTA IV so seeing him get a more starring role was a lot of fun.
Gameplay was as you would expect, but they added a scoring system for missions as well as lots of new side jobs you could take such as entering a fighting competition, dealing drugs and dealing with club management to name a few. While the game was around the same length as The Lost And The Damned, it felt like there was much more to do here.
The Ballad Of Gay Tony was greeted with worldwide acclaim. Everyone loved the story and it would be the most popular of all the GTA DLC. It is worth noting that this along with The Lost And The Damned would be released together as the “Episodes From Liberty City” bundle that let you play both stories without the need for a Grand Theft Auto IV disc.
As you know here at Mods R Us, our modded controllers are perfect for those who love first person shooters. When it comes to first person shooters, Overwatch is one of the very best and most popular released in the last decade! Blizzard absolutely nailed it with Overwatch and today, we want to look at why that is.
To start with Overwatch has more personality and style than the majority of other first person shooters on the market. Blizzard did a wonderful job in creating a very interesting cast of characters. Each one with their own backstory and play style, plus charming personality. It makes it very easy for a player to gravitate to a couple of different characters and stick with them.
While the characters and setting of Overwatch are of course awesome. The gameplay is the real draw here. The game modes are what you would expect. But it is the core gameplay that has sucked so many people into the world of Overwatch. It is so easy to pick up and play, but there can be a lot of depth here, especially if you are willing to work as part of a team and play your role. But at the same time, you can totally just lone wolf it and run around shooting everything you see!
Overwatch has also been awesome in regards to DLC. Blizzard has really supported the game very well and so far the characters they have added have all been added for free which is great. Plus they have these special events like Junkenstien’s Revenge and The Summer Games which make the game even more fun.
Blizzard has a monster hit on their hands with Overwatch and we really cannot wait to see what they have in store for the next Overwatch game!
