The Best PS4 Controllers On The Market Today

The Best PS4 Controller On The Market Today

Yes the title is a little bit full on, but that is honestly how I feel. The good folks at Mods “R” Us, hooked me up with one of their fantastic PlayStation 4 modded controllers and I have been putting it through its paces this last week.

The Master Modded Playstation 4 Controller that they have here can be purchased in a few different colors. I got the blue one, but they all look neat. I play a lot of first person shooters, but it was mainly with Call Of Duty, Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 4 and Cod WW2.

To start with the mod that I got the most out of was drop shot. The idea here is that when you shoot, your guy drops to the floor. I have tried this tactic without the mod and I always screw it up. Having it already mapped to the controller though was awesome. Quick scope and fast reload were another two of the mods that were of a great help to me and I have to admit that during a game of Team Deathmatch in Infinite Warfare I was on fire, just taking other players down left and right.

There are a ton more different mods on this controller and turning them on and off could not be any easier. Also, you can even just use this as a regular old controller which is a nice touch.

If you are a PS4 gamer, I can promise you that you will have a ton of fun with this and if you are looking or the edge in your first person shooters then you will struggle to top this.

modded controllers function of drop shot controller mod

modded controllers function of drop shot controller mod

modded controllers are providing different types of functions for players including drop shot. With the help of drop shot the player is able to remain safe from attacks from enemies. When drop shot function is enabled then the person is able to shot on the enemies and the player is also dropping on the ground. In this manner the player is able to remain safe from attacks of enemies. When you are playing shooting games, like call of duty, then your player can get shot from enemies.

With the help of drop shot you are able to shot fires on enemies while your player will drop on ground so that he can remain safe from attacks from enemies.
While using this function you are able to have better attacks on enemies while remaining safe from their attacks at the same time.
You are not needed to consider the safety of your player when you are using this function.
You can aim fire on enemies while this function is enabled and the player will fall on the ground and remain safe from attacks.
It is hard to target the player on the ground so this function is made to make sure that the safety of player could be increased in shooting games.
Many players playing call of duty and other games are using this function and they are happy with the results.
You are able to enable this function at any time when you are using modded controllers.
You can enable the function of drop shot and check results which are given instantly.
With these results you will notice that your performance has been improved.
Shooting on enemies while in standing position can lead to attacks and damages to your player as your player will be shot in standing position.
Enemies are aiming on your player when you are in standing position.

You have to remain safe from attacks of enemies and while using simple controllers you have to drop on the ground and then start firing. With modded controllers you are able to enable the function of drop shot and just aim on enemies which will help to remain safe from attacks of enemies. Your player will drop on the ground and you will have a better chance of getting safe while eliminating enemies.

Shooting games are high in demand and players like the function of drop shot. Demand of shooting games is increasing with time and modded controllers are used on a large scale in order to increase fun and thrills. When you are using modded controllers and playing shooting games then you can use functions which are made to have more fun and benefits. You can enable the function of drop shot and see results.

These results are going to increase fun as your player will drop on the ground while you are shooting on enemies to make sure that enemies cannot shoot your player. Many players are using modded controllers are using the functions of drop shot and getting benefits. It is easy to use such functions with the help of modded controllers.

modded controllers with function of quick scope

modded controllers with function of quick scope

Many players are playing different types of games with the help of modded controllers. Many functions are provided to players through modded controllers including quick scope. This is a special function which is made to make sure that players are able to shoot the enemies at a better rate. Main purpose of quick scope function is to target the enemies and shoot at the same time when using a sniper rifle.

Players are required to aim on enemies and then shoot to fire while using the sniper rifle which takes some time and the target can move which can lead to missing of shot.
There are limited shots available for sniper rifle due to which it is important to use every shot for elimination of enemies.
When you are using quick scope function which is available through modded controllers then you are able to get benefits.
These benefits will make sure that your shot while using the sniper rifle can get the target every time at a fast rate.
With the help of quick scope function your sniper rifle will target the enemies and shoot them instantly and eliminate them.
This function is working well in all types of shooting games.

Many players have used this function in shooting games including call of duty and they are happy with the results.
Now the players are able to enable the function of quick scope and use the sniper rifle and target the enemies and eliminate them without wasting time in aiming on enemies and then pressing the fire button to eliminate them.

This automatic function is able to check when the enemy is targeted and then fire is done to eliminate them.
This function is able to improve the ability of players in shooting games and they are able to eliminate all types of enemies instantly.
You can use modded controllers and enable the function of quick scope while using the sniper rifle.

This is a user friendly function which is working well at all levels. Many players have used this function and they are happy with the results. Your shots in sniper rifle are precious and you have to use them with care. Careless use of shots in sniper rifle will lead to loss of your ability to eliminate enemies. In shooting games there are many hidden enemies and many enemies are hiding at far places.

You have to use sniper rifle to target such enemies and eliminate them. Mostly the enemies are moving and you have to aim on them and fire at the same time in order to eliminate them. With the help of quick scope you are able to use the sniper rifle and aim on enemies and then fire on them instantly.

This function is increasing the ability of players in removal of all types of enemies in shooting games. Your working and operations, through sniper rifle, will be improved when you are using this function. You can enable this function at any time when you have modded controllers. The function of quick scope and many others are available in modded controllers which are high in demand.

Playstation 4 vs Xbox One: Which One To Buy

Playstation 4 vs Xbox One: Which One To Buy

Ok so this is a tough question to answer, but as we specialize in Playstation 4 and Xb1 modded controllers, we have spent a ton of time with each console. Well, today we are giving our opinions on what one we like best...And it is a hard decision.

PlayStation 4

First up we have the PS4. The PlayStation 4 is a great system, it is much smaller than the Xbox One, it loads and downloads a hell of a lot faster than the Xbox One (especially when it comes to installing games) and we would go as far to say that it has a far better UI than the Xbox One. Still, the PS4 is not perfect, the port for the charging cable on the front is ugly and the controller is not quite as robust as the Xbox One. Still, even with a couple of little annoyances, the PlayStation 4 is a fantastic console that does have a great selection of exclusive games, Uncharted, God Of  War, Horizon, Killzone, Last Of Us and much more.

Xbox One

Despite getting off to a rough start (which was all their own doing) the Xb1 has proven to be a great console. The redesigned S looks awesome and the Xb1 has one of the best controllers ever made. The Xb1 can be an all in one media center which is cool for people who are into that kind of thing. The biggest downside to the Xbox One is just how slow it is. Slow to load up and very, very slow to download games, install them and it is even slow at downloading updates. The library of games is solid with some great exclusives like Halo 5 and Gears Of War 4.

If we had to pick just one, we would have to go for the Ps4. We have a lot of fun with Xb1, but using the same internet connection, it is much slower at downloading and installing games on the Xbox One so that is why we give the Playstation 4 a edge.

Classic Shooter Memories Turok

Classic Shooter Memories Turok

It is kind of hard to imagine, but in the world of video games, Turok used to be a pretty big deal. I would actually bet there are some younger gamers who have not even heard of this series!

Turok Dinosaur Hunter was released on the Nintendo 64 and it was actually a pretty big deal at the time. It was one of the biggest games to be released for the Nintendo 64 shortly after the console launched. The game saw you playing as Turok, a badass warrior who had to stop a warlord called The Campaigner from taking over the universe.

What is cool about Turok is that it has dinosaurs in it, but it is more sci-fi than it is fantasy. You will be killing dinosaurs and other bad guys and having a great time doing so. Turok has some pretty bag fog like many Nintendo 64 games did at the time, but it tries to make it part of the level. The graphics at the time were state of the art and most people flipped out over how good it looked.

I had no trouble controlling Turok back in 1997 (apart from the platforming sections) however it is a game that has not aged very well. Using the C buttons and the analog stick to move takes some serious getting used to and while it is a game I have fond memories of, it is not exactly a game I look to play once a year.

It was followed up with three other games on the Nintendo 64, including one that was multiplayer focused. It then was rebooted with the game Turok Evolution for the PS2, Xbox and GameCube and that game sucked!

What did not suck though was the second reboot which was simply called, Turok. This was released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It is actually a really fun game and I would say it is my favorite of the whole Turok series and well worth tracking down and having a play through.

Battlefield V Makes Changes To Its Changes

Battlefield V Makes Changes To Its Changes

If you remember a week or so ago, I wrote a blog post talking about how Battlefield V was tinkering with the time to kill aspect of Battlefield V. Some players had been vocal about how quick it was to die in the game.

Well, that was nothing compared to the people who complained after Dice made changes to Battlefield V which made it take longer to kill an opponent. This made some players very angry and there was some heated talk on Twitter as well as from some popular YouTubers about the changes that Dice had made.

Just like Dice listened the first time people complained, they have listened again and now they have gone back to the way the time to kill was before they made the changes! If you are like me and have not played Battlefield V for the past week, these changes were made and then changed back so fast that you will not even notice that it happened.

You have to give it to Dice for at least trying this out, they tried it, people did not like it so they changed it back. It is because of things like this that I have always had a real soft spot for Dice as they do try to listen to the community and make changes that the majority want.

I still stand by the fact that Battlefield V is a damn fine game and while not perfect I do think it is worth picking up. Especially now that most retailers have slashed the price by as much as half!

Classic Shooter Memories Dino Crisis 2

Classic Shooter Memories Dino Crisis 2

You may think that Dino Crisis is a survival horror game and while that is certainly true for the first game. Dino Crisis 2 was an all-out action packed shooter that had many arcade style elements to it.

Dino Crisis 2 is a direct sequel, you once again play as Regina, but also a new character called Dylan and the story switches between the two of them. I love the story of this game, scientists are screwing around with a new form of energy and as a result, a research facility is transported back in time. You are sent to find out what the hell is going on!

Dino Crisis 2 is a run and gun style game. You enter a level and you need to kill all the dinos and then move onto the next part. You get a score for the dinosaurs that you kill and you can get combos as well as a no damage bonus. The scoring system is there to do more than just show you what a badass you are. It is also what you will be using to purchase new weapons, items, and upgrades.

If you found the original Dino Crisis as well as the original Resident Evil games a little slow paced and wished that they had more action. Dino Crisis 2 is the perfect game for you to play. The fixed camera may take a while to get used to and it still has those tank style controls. However, Capcom has made it so that Regina and Dylan both move quickly so once you get used to the camera and controls you will be taking down dinosaurs in no time at all.

Dino Crisis 2 was only released on the PlayStation (and PC) which is a shame as I would have loved to have seen how good this game could have looked on the Sega Dreamcast.

Classic Shooter Memories 007 The World Is Not Enough

Classic Shooter Memories 007 The World Is Not Enough

Today I am talking about a first person shooter that does not get the love it deserves. Based on the movie of the same name, 007 The World Is Not Enough was the third movie to star Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. It was also the third game based on a James Bond game starring Pierce Brosnan. While available on the PS1, it is the Nintendo 64 version I am talking about.

Once Goldeneye struck gold on the Nintendo 64, EA snatched up the rights to make games based on James Bond games. Their first effort, Tomorrow Never Dies was average at best. The World Is Not Enough……… is just as good as Goldeneye! Did I just say that? Yes, I did and I honestly mean it.

EA and Eurocom clearly went to the Goldeneye well to get their inspiration for The World Is Not Enough. This game is fantastic! It features very nice graphics. Everything looks so smooth in The World Is Not Enough. It features a single player campaign that is better designed than what Goldeneye offered and in general it is more fun as a result.

The Nintendo 64 version of The World Is Not Enough also features a robust multiplayer mode. There will be some people who will have none of this, but I think that this is just as good, if not better than what Goldeneye offers. This, of course, is my personal opinion, but it is one that I stand by. I used to have game nights with this game and we always had a great time.

So while Goldeneye is the 007 game that gets all the love and attention. I think EA actually did the 007 license justice with a few of their games and The World Is Not Enough on the Nintendo 64 is one that I love and I would go as far to say it is one of my favorite games for the entire system.

Thoughts on Dead of the Night

Thoughts on Dead of the Night

The first Zombies expansion that is part of the Black Ops Pass is available for PlayStation owners and I wanted to talk about it.

In terms of gameplay, Dead of the Night is exactly what you would expect, but the setting is what makes it so much fun. I will go as far to say that this is my favorite Zombies chapter that Call of Duty Black Ops IIII has right now.

This is actually a prequel to the events of Voyage of Despair. The story is set at a fancy party that Alistair Rhodes (the father of Scarlett) is throwing at his super fancy estate. Of course, all hell breaks loose and all, but four of the party guests get turned into bloodthirsty zombies!

The Rhodes Estate is one of the best zombie maps I have had the pleasure to play on. I have not fully explored every nook and cranny just yet, but I love how diverse it is. I thought it would be just all in the house, but you can explore the grounds as well and the creepy cemetery, in particular, is an area that I really love.

The lineup of characters is pretty cool, with the gunslinger who in some way reminds me of McCree from Overwatch is my favorite. I have had a blast with this and I look forward to putting some serious time into it and finding the Easter egg and completing all the objectives.

I know the Black Ops Pass is something that some people are not keen on, but I really do feel it is great value for money and if Dead of the Night is an indication of the Zombies maps we are going to get, I am very glad I got it.

Classic Shooter Memories Die Hard Trilogy

Classic Shooter Memories Die Hard Trilogy

As this is the holiday season I thought I would take things a little easy this week and look back some of the shooters that I have loved over the years.

First up is Die Hard Trilogy on the original PlayStation which I got for Christmas from my aunt and uncle back in 1996. Die Hard Trilogy was three games in one. One 3rd person shooter, one on rail shooter and a driving game.

The two shooters were awesome. Die Hard 1 saw you running around each floor trying to find the bomb and save the hostages. All the while killing a ton of bad guys. Die Hard 2 though was the game I spent the most time with. This is an on-rails, light gun shooter game, similar to Virtua Cop (although way better if you ask me). Die Hard 2 was awesome! It was over the top, bloody and full of bullets flying everywhere.

I stayed up all Christmas night and Die Hard 2 was one of the games I spent a ton of time playing. The third game, Die Hard With A Vengeance is of course not a shooter, but it is still a decent game and when you run over a pedestrian you have to wipe the blood off the screen with the wipers! It is the weakest of the three games in my opinion, but it rounds off the package quite nicely.

Die Hard Trilogy was also available on Sega Saturn and PC and there was even a PlayStation exclusive sequel released too. This is still a game I have a lot of fun with and if I fire it up it is always Die Hard 2 that I play.

Call of Duty Black Ops IIII Has Its Price Slashed For Christmas

Call of Duty Black Ops IIII Has Its Price Slashed For Christmas

Some stores in the USA are having a very special deal in the week leading up to Christmas. It has already been well documented that Battlefield V is available most places for as much to fifty percent off, including the digital version of the game.

Now though. Call of Duty Black Ops IIII is also seeing as much as fifty percent off is some major stores. Walmart and Best Buy are the biggest chains that are going to be offering Call of Duty Black Ops IIII at this cut price. This is a truly awesome deal and it is sure to make even more people pick up Black Ops IIII this holiday season.

I think this makes Call of Duty Black Ops IIII and even more attractive purchase this holiday season. Also if you were on the fence over what game to get, Battlefield V or Call of Duty Black Ops IIII. Well, now you can get both games for the price of one if you shop around.

2018 has been a great year for shooters. I am surprised to see stores offering Call of Duty Black Ops IIII at this lower price point, especially considering how well it has been selling. Blackout V makes sense as it is struggling with sales. With stores though offering Black Ops IIII at a lower price, this could be bad news for the folks at Dice and EA as it now makes the two games even when it comes to their pricing.

25 Years of Doom

25 Years of Doom

It is crazy to think that Doom is now 25 years old! The main reason this is so crazy is that it must mean that I am old as dirt because I vividly remember Doom first coming out.

When Doom was first released I did not have a PC, my dad had one in his office, but I did not. I was a console gamer, but a few kids at school had PC’s and Doom was all they would talk about. I also remember Doom being a big deal in gaming magazines at the time.

A friend gave me a copy (that was how Doom was spread around where I lived, it was like some kind of virus!) and I took it to my dad to try on his PC….. of course, it did not work on my dad’s weak PC!

I played it a little at friends’ houses, but my first experience with Doom was really the Super Nintendo version of the game. Which some people may find really sad, but I did not care, I freaking loved Doom on the Super Nintendo. I put the SNES version of Doom on my SNES Classic when I hacked it and man it has not aged well, but I still have fond memories of that game. I actually got Doom on the Super Nintendo just before I got my PlayStation, I think it may have been the last big game I bought for my SNES. Of course, I could have just waited and got it for the PS1, but let’s not dwell on that.

Another version of Doom that I have fond memories of is Final Doom for the PlayStation. I got this for Christmas in 1996 and while I loved the SNES version of Doom and I played the hell out of it for a month, once I got my PlayStation I kind of left Doom behind. Then on Christmas morning, I opened up a PlayStation shaped gift and it was Final Doom! A game my parents bought me on whim because they remembered how much of a fuss I made over the game last year. Final Doom is my Doom! The time I put into Doom on the SNES was nothing compared to how much I played Final Doom. I remember getting yelled at to come down for Christmas lunch. My parents did not understand that I was kicking some serious demon ass and I had no time for turkey and mash potatoes!

I never went the route of PC gaming until around 2010. So my next experience with Doom was Doom 3 on the original Xbox. This was a real change of pace from what I remembered with Final Doom. It was slower, more story driven and I actually really liked it. I enjoyed playing through Doom 3 and the expansion for it, whose name escapes me as I write this. I remember being blown away by the graphics as there was no way the PS2 could have run a game that looked like that.

Doom was, of course, rebooted a couple of years back and it was a huge success. I loved the new Doom, so much that I have it on both PS4 and Xbox One. While it does not have an official date yet, I have really high hopes for Doom Eternal when it comes next year.

Black Ops IIII Has Been Hijacked

Black Ops IIII Has Been Hijacked

The recent Call of Duty Black Ops IIII update introduced some cool new stuff, but what is really taking Blackout Mode to the next level is the addition of luxury yacht that has been added to the map.

This, of course, is part of the classic map, Hijacked which was part of Call of Duty Black Ops II. As this is a new section to Blackout Mode as you would expect it is freaking nuts! When you start a game and head here all you see is a ton of smoke trails and parachutes of people landing on the yacht.

This is a lot of fun and so far the longest I have been able to survive landing on this Yacht is about a minute and I think I might be very generous saying I lasted a minute. You better pray that you are one of the first to land on the yacht and that you land near a gun if not you are screwed. There are not a ton of weapons on here, well there could be, but there sure as hell is not enough for the sheer amount of players landing on here.

I think that adding in Hijacked is a ton of fun and the fact that so many people are heading here and it is so close quarters is what makes it fun. I do not know if it will still be as much fun when the novelty wears off and people stop landing here in droves, but for the time being, I am having a blast, even when I get shot after about five seconds after landing!

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 DLC Pack 1 Leaks Early

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 DLC Pack 1 Leaks Early

I have been trying to get my head around how this actually happened, but people some people in Australia have been able to get access to an early version of the first DLC pack that is part of the Black Ops Pass.

What is really weird about this is that this leak is a developer build of the first DLC pack so things are a little rough. There is as you would expect some video floating around online of this leak and it looks pretty cool.

The people who managed to get the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 DLC pack 1 were able to get into two new maps. These maps are called Madagascar and Elevation. The fact there is only two maps is something that is really weird as usually, we get four, and for the price they are asking for The Black Ops Pass, I am not sure if people will be cool with just two maps.

The other thing that was part of this leak was Dead of the Night which is the next part of Zombies and this I am very excited about. Now I cannot give you any real information on what was show (there is footage of Dead of the Night on YouTube) as I did not want anything spoiled for myself. However, I have heard that it is a little on the rough side, but to be fair this was not supposed to be released to the public so I am sure it will be fine once it is all done.

Treyarch has said they are aware of this and by the time you have read this an official trailer for this first DLC pack should be live.

Did EA and Dice Get Battlefield V Wrong

Did EA and Dice Get Battlefield V Wrong

This is not a blog hating on Battlefield V. As a matter of fact, I pre-ordered the game and I have enjoyed what I have played of it so far. However, last night I finally finished The Last Tiger which was the last War Story chapter.

Let me say that War Stories were very well done and it was a fun single player experience. To be honest though, Call of Duty WWII I feel had a much better WWII story than Battlefield V offered. I loved the way that the German soldiers questioned themselves in The Last Tiger, but overall I feel Call of Duty WWII told a more interesting, personal and action packed story than Battlefield V.

Which got me thinking, did EA and Dice get Battlefield V wrong? To start with setting the game in World War II was a rather big gamble. Now as the last Battlefield was set in World War I this was a logical step. But doing this just a year after Call of Duty absolutely nailed it with WWII was always going to be a challenge. Many gamers will have had their fill of WWII action and that could be a reason as to why the sales of Battlefield V have been disappointing. Had they set it during the Vietnam War or perhaps the Gulf War it would have stood out far more from Sledgehammer Games 2017 game.

Then, of course, there is the window that they decided to release Battlefield V. Coming out after Black Ops IIII, Red Dead Redemption II and even games like Forza 4, Assassins Creed Odyssey and a few others was always going to be a challenge. Gamers only have so much money and so much free time!

EA clearly thought that they would get some big sales in the holiday season, but as they themselves have had to slash the price in half, clearly sales are poor. Had they held off and released the game in say February or March, it could have stood out from the shadow of Black Ops IIII and last year’s WWII. As good as Battlefield V is, I feel that some decisions were made which ultimately decided its fate before it was even released.

Operation Absolute Zero Brings New Specialist To Black Ops IIII

Operation Absolute Zero Brings New Specialist To Black Ops IIII

If you are a fan of Call of Duty Black Ops IIII you no doubt know that there is something big and cold coming to Black Ops IIII. Actually, by the time you read this, it is probably live. Operation Absolute Zero is the new DLC for Black Ops IIII and it is jam packed with awesome content.

While there is a lot to talk about the main thing that has gotten me excited about Operation Absolute Zero is the new specialist that is part of this DLC. The new specialist is called Zero and she is pretty badass. From a character point of view, I really like the design they have gone for. In a way, she reminds me of Faith Connors from Mirrors Edge.

Anyway, you can use Zero in both multiplayer mode and also in Blackout. What is pretty cool about her is that she is a hacker and she can mess with enemies by using her hacking tools. This is going to be a lot of fun to mess around with. I am not exactly sure how well she is going to be as an all-out offensive kind of character, but as a support and in the right hands. I feel that Zero could be a fantastic addition to any squad. What I am getting from looking at Zero is that I feel like she is going to be Call of Duty Black Ops IIII’s version of Sombra from Overwatch.

So how do you play as Zero? Well, Treyarch has said that the way that you can play as Zero is by completing Tier 1 which is part of the new look Black Market. I think that this is certainly in reach of the majority of Black Ops IIII players and I am glad to see they have not hidden her behind some unfair paywall!

Will We See A New Killzone Game

Will We See A New Killzone Game

When the PlayStation 4 launched one of its big first party titles was Killzone Shadow Fall. As a matter of fact it as the Killzone Shadow Fall bundle that I got on launch day.

When Killzone first launched on the PlayStation 2 over a decade ago it had a ton of hype behind it. Some magazines (yes it was that long ago, gaming magazines were still a big deal) were referring to it as Sony’s Halo killer!

Of course, it did not come anywhere close to being that, but Killzone is a series that I have had a lot of fun with. Also, it is a series that Sony clearly has a lot of love for as it has featured on the PS2, PS3, PSP, Vita and the PlayStation 4.

While Killzone Shadow Fall did not reinvent the wheel in terms of first person shooters. I actually really enjoyed the game and felt that it had a strong story which had some pretty cool twists that got me really invested to what was happening. It kind of came and went and no one pays it any attention.

With that being said it has made me wonder if that is it for Killzone on the PlayStation 4? The story really closed quite well I felt so I am not sure if a follow up now would be the way to go. Perhaps a reboot of the franchise is what is needed in order to take Killzone to the next level?

While Killzone may have been one of the first big exclusives for the PS4, perhaps if Sony do decide to reboot the series they would be better off waiting for the next generation of PlayStation to do so. Killzone Shadow Fall can be picked up for as little as five bucks these days and if it is a game you have missed out on I highly recommend that you give it a chance. Especially if you like first person shooters that have a sci-fi twist to them.

EA Offering Battlefield V For Half Price

EA Offering Battlefield V For Half Price

Look we all know that Battlefield V has had a rough launch. I am not talking about the actual quality of the game, but in how it is performing sales wise.

Some industry experts actually predicted that this would be the case as there were far too many huge games being released in such a short space of time. One or maybe, even more, would ultimately fail to meet their targets.

Battlefield V appears to be really struggling. First of all, some retailers during Black Friday were offering the game for close to half price. Which was just a week or so after the game released! While you could say that this was just because it was Black Friday, the fact is those same retailers have not increased the price of Battlefield V.

Now EA is officially slashing the price of Battlefield V in half, but there is a catch. If you have a previous Battlefield game. Players who fired up Battlefield 1 on Xbox noticed the offer being promoted. This offer for 50 percent off Battlefield V is good for the Standard Edition as well as the Deluxe Edition of Battlefield V.

It sucks to see a game that has had so much love put into it struggle. Also, it sucks because Battlefield V is a pretty solid package and a game that I personally have had a lot of fun with. Still with that being said the people at EA should have researched the release date better and not just took for granted that their game would be the one to crush all others.

On another note, if you have still not taken the plunge and jumped into Battlefield V yet……. What are you waiting for? You are getting a lot of bang for your buck with this offer.

How To Survive In Black Ops 4 Zombies

How To Survive In Black Ops 4 Zombies

I have spent many, many hours in Zombies mode in Call of Duty Black Ops 4. It can be hard as nails, but today I am sharing with you a few tactics that are hopefully going to help you survive a little bit longer.

Use Your Equipment

While you may always have your finger on the trigger. Do not forget about the fact you can use elixirs, your ultimate ability, and some explosive options as well. I find that saving these for when all hell breaks loose and you are facing certain death is the way to go as it can give you the out you need to make it through a, particularly challenging wave.

Take It All In

Zombies in Black Ops 4 has far more going on that you may realize. For example on the IX map, you can cut the banners at the start of the match. You do this and you open up new challenges from the gods which can give you better stuff. Each map has side missions and special sections like this that can get you more powerful weapons and items that are going to help you out.

Pack A Punch!

Some folks like to brag they never need to use the Pack A Punch machine! Well, I do and I bet you do too! Building the Pack A Punch machine as early as you can makes all the difference to how long you survive. Each map has its own way for you to unlock the Pack A Punch machine, but you have to do it!

Do Not Run Away

The best bit of advice I can give you is to never run away. There is a reason the people who wander off on their own in horror movies always die first! Make sure you are always close enough to a teammate so that there is someone to help lend a hand with some firepower or revive you if needed.

Battlefield V Update Adds Some Real Firepower

Battlefield V Update Adds Some Real Firepower

It may have been delayed by a day, but the first big Battlefield V update is here and it is a good one.

The main talking points are the fact that there is a new War Story chapter for you guys who love the single player aspect of Battlefield V. This one is set during the last days of a Tiger Commanders war. This is a nice change of pace for the War Story single player campaign. I would say that DICE and EA are not getting the credit they deserve for how much fun the War Story mode is in Battlefield V so getting another chapter is something I am very happy about.

While that is great and I am very excited about it. DICE are also adding a new map to Battlefield V called, Panzerstorm and this sounds amazing. This map is all about tanks hauling ass (well as fast as tanks can go) and blowing a ten feet wide hole in anything that comes your way. This map looks like it is going to be a hoot and some of the past Battlefield maps I have enjoyed have been all about tanks blowing things up so Panzerstorm is something I am really looking forward to sinking my teeth into.

Battlefield V has taken a bit of a beating since it was released, what with the strange release and the fact it had to have its price slashed by as much as half just a week after release. However, those of us who have played the game have enjoyed it and think it is one of the better first person shooters of the year. This first big update is pretty stacked with content and that is something I give major props to DICE for.

Could War Mode Return To Call of Duty

Could War Mode Return To Call of Duty?

I read a very interesting article that got my gears spinning yesterday. The writer was talking about how much they loved War Mode in WWII and how they wished that it had come back for Black Ops IIII.

I loved my time with Call of Duty WWII, but since Black Ops IIII released I have not touched it. I actually came really close to deleting it off my PS4 as I had not played it in so long. I also have to admit that I had for some reason, completely forgot about the awesome War Mode that was a huge feature of Call of Duty WWII.

This tends to happen with Call of Duty games. If you are really into all the new ones, you always tend to drop the previous year’s game like a bad habit. Well, this article really made me realize actually how much fun I had with War Mode. In case you have forgotten, War Mode is a multiplayer battle where instead of just taking a point or getting the highest kill count. You have actual objectives that you need to do. Build a bridge, destroy a tank and so on. This made the mode require more teamwork and it gave each battle a lot of meaning.

War Mode was Sledgehammer Games baby so as much as I would love to see it become part of Call of Duty Black Ops IIII. I have a feeling that we are going to have to wait until it is their turn to give us a Call of Duty game once again. Although I do hope that there is enough interest to make Activision take note and perhaps bring War Mode back, even if it was just for one of the Community Events.

Two Call of Duty Movies In The Works

Two Call of Duty Movies In The Works

There is no Call of Duty Black Ops IIII news at the moment, but if you ask me some kind of Christmas event has got to be on the way. Instead, I was surprised to hear that the Call of Duty movie has had a sequel greenlit already…… what is that you have not seen the Call of Duty movie? Well, no one has!

That is because the first Call of Duty movie has not even been released. Actually, the first Call of Duty movie does not even have a cast yet or even a production date or anything. There is a script and from what Activision have said, Black Ops appears to the be the kind of style they are going for with the Call of Duty movie.

The director that is on board for the Call of Duty movie is the same guy who did the awesome Sicario 2 that was a pretty big hit earlier this year, Stefano Sollima. From what has been said, Chris Pine who you probably know as Captain Kirk in Star Trek and Tom Hardy from Venom are the two actors that he is hoping to have in the movie. I could actually see both these guys in a Call of Duty movie.

It is pretty crazy though that the folks at Activision/Blizzard have greenlit a second Call of Duty movie before the first one has even started filming. Perhaps the huge success of last year’s Call of Duty WWII and this year’s Call of Duty Black Ops IIII has given them increased confidence in the appeal of Call of Duty?

The second Call of Duty movie is being written by the same guy who did Black Panther so at least Activision/Blizzard and the production team for the COD movie series are not cheeping out and appear to be going to top-tier talent to bring Call of Duty to the big screen.

You have to wonder though if the Call of Duty game that comes out the same time as the Call of Duty movie will have any kind of ties into the movie?

Are Throwing Knives In Battlefield V Awesome or Annoying

Are Throwing Knives In Battlefield V Awesome or Annoying?

Thanks to Red Dead Redemption II, I have not spent as much time with Battlefield V as I would have liked. Still, what I have played I have enjoyed and thanks to the folks at Kotaku and an article they wrote. I have actually been having a blast playing it over the weekend thanks to throwing knives!

That is right throwing knives. These can only be used by the Recon class. A class that as its main form of attack is the sniper rifle is one I would never normally use as I am horrible at long range. However, the Recon Class in Battlefield V also gets to use throwing knives which are basically there so they have some kind of close range attack.

What is causing a buzz about these is how powerful they are. At a distance they do not do much damage, at close range these throwing knives can be a one hit kill! It is so much fun when you get the hang of running around or hiding with the button held and then releasing it at just the right time and getting that one hit kill. There are videos on YouTube dedicated to this. People play like they are John Wick just taking people down left and right with their throwing knives.

I personally have no problem with this as it is not like you have unlimited throwing knives and it takes a lot of skill to pull it off. Some folks though say it is unfair how these can most of the time serve as a one-hit kill. I can kind of see that point of view, but the amount of players I have come across who can take out a whole squad (which is something you can see on YouTube) is very small, but I am actually impressed when I do.

Two New Free Maps For Black Ops IIII

Two New Free Maps For Black Ops IIII

Even though it has been out for a couple of months at the most, Treyarch have been doing a great job in adding fun content to Call of Duty Black Ops IIII. The most recent update of course improved and changed a few things, but the most notable thing added are two new maps.

The first thing I want to mention is that these two maps are free! So even if you do not have the Black Ops Pass also calling these “new” maps is a bit of a stretch as they are actually variants of two existing maps. Still, the inclusion of these two maps takes the overall count up to 17 which is very impressive.

The two map variants are,

Firing Range Night

As the name suggests this is the Firing Range map, but now the battle is taking place at night. What is rather interesting about this is that it makes the Firing Range map take a rather different tone. Not just in the way that it looks, but in how it plays. For example, it is much easier to hide and sneak around now.

Seaside Sunset

The Seaside Map is one of my favorites from a design point of view. This little Spanish town has certainly seen some stuff that is for sure. The sunset theme is really neat, but it is the torrential rain that makes this new take on the Seaside map. It actually looks pretty cool and certainly freshens the map up a bit, but I am not sure if it adds anything to the map from a gameplay point of view.

Getting more content is always great. While these are just variants of the maps we have already been playing on. There is no denying that their inclusion helps to keep multiplayer fresh as it is two extra maps added to the mix.

Red Dead Redemption II Has Battle Royale Mode

Red Dead Redemption II Has Battle Royale Mode!

Red Dead Redemption II was a runaway success and as great as the single player campaign was, it was only half the package.

Well Red Dead Redemption II online is here on Xbox One in its beta form and it is actually far more polished than you would think. While there are some great game modes here and exploring that wide open world is a lot of fun. As is taking on missions by yourself, or teaming up and working as a gang of outlaws.

It is the fact that Red Dead Redemption has its own Battle Royale mode that has gotten so many people excited. Rather than just call it, Red Dead Battle Royale. Rockstar has gone for the more imaginative name of, Make It Count.

Make It Count is awesome and something that works incredibly well in the world of Red Dead Redemption II. The way this mode works is that you are thrown into the map and you only have your bow and arrow or throwing knives to defend yourself with. The idea is the same as all other Battle Royale games where you want to be the last one standing. Also like other Battle Royale games, the size of the area that you will be trying to survive in will be shirking.

This is just one of the modes that is part of Red Dead Redemption II online, but it is pretty fun to see that the folks at Rockstar are getting in on this Battle Royale craze that appears to be showing no signs of going away.

Battlefield V Is Struggling

Battlefield V Is Struggling?

The last three months of 2018 have been stacked with video game releases and we all knew that some would struggle. Many industry experts predicted that it would be Battlefield V that would struggle and that proves to be right. What is crazy is that after just a week on regular sale, Battlefield 5 is disappointing in its sales.

This is not a Black Friday deal either, Battlefield V has had its price slashed in half to only 30 bucks by Target! This is crazy that a Triple-A game and a game from a franchise like Battlefield has had its priced slashed so quickly after release. Target must have no confidence in this game at all.

You have to wonder if other stores are going to follow this trend, with how much press this is getting I would say yes they will. Battlefield V being sold for half price after just a week is being heavily reported so other stores will want to make sure they get in on this too. As a person who paid full price for Battlefield V just a week ago, this makes me kind of mad.

It is even worse for those folks who paid for EA Access and got the special edition! Imagine paying all that money for a game you were excited about only for it to slash the price shortly after!

I have enjoyed what I have played of Battlefield V and think the way DICE are changing things is great, but this is going to leave a sore taste in the mouths of people who have paid full price for this just a week ago, especially if more and more stores follow this trend and offer Battlefield V for this cut price.
