Frozen Dawn Is The Perfect End To Cod WW2 Nazi Zombies

Frozen Dawn Is The Perfect End To Cod WW2 Nazi Zombies

The first thing that I did when I downloaded the new Shadow War DLC for Call Of Duty WWII was play Frozen Dawn. The last chapter of the epic Nazi Zombies saga. Before I go on let me say that there are no spoilers here for you guys who have not yet had a chance to play this.

Nazi Zombies has become my favorite take on zombies mode so far. I have loved the more cinematic approach and think that having an actual story running through it has made it all the more engaging. You start off Frozen Dawn at a crash site, but before long you are making your way into this Thule installation that is so unnerving it reminds me of something from Doom or even The Darkness.

It truly feels like you are in hell and there is even a section that requires a blood sacrifice for you to enter a particular room. They have done a truly amazing job with the level design here.

The zombie design is once again fantastic and while you have seen many of these zombies before. I think the new creepier and scary setting kind of makes you see them in a whole new light.

Frozen Dawn is truly incredible and a great way to end the story. I actually think that Activision could get away with releasing the whole Nazi Zombies saga together on a disc as a budget title. Similar to what Rockstar did with the Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare.

Signature Weapons Coming To Black Ops IIII

Signature Weapons Coming To Black Ops IIII

Recently the folks at EA and Treyarch has some very exciting news regarding Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII. That news is that for the first time in the series, signature weapons are going to be available.

Now as this is Activision you may think that there is something sinister going on here. Well, that is not the case. You see these Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII signature weapons will not give the player that has one any kind of advantage. They are just purely there for cosmetic reasons and from what they have said these signature weapons are not only going to look badass the way you obtain then also adds more fun to the game.

To get the different signature weapons and styles you will need to take part and complete a series of challenges. This means that when you see another player with a signature weapon you know that they worked hard for it and did not just drop three bucks to get it. There will be an order to the challenges that will end with a master craft version of the signature weapon you like. One thing I need to mention is that these signature weapons are just the same as the regular version they just look way cooler.

Not only will these make you look awesome and show people that you are a serious Call Of Duty player. What I think is really cool about the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII signature weapons is how getting them actually gives you, even more, to do with the game.

New Division Coming To Call Of Duty WWII

New Division Coming To Call Of Duty WWII

We just talked about the exciting last piece of DLC for Call Of Duty WWII, Shadow War. Well, that is not all that is going to be hitting Call Of Duty WWII. Next week is going to see the DLC, but as well as that there will be a rather substantial update.

A brand new division is going to be part of this update. Unfortunately, Sledgehammer Games have not said what this new Division is going to be just yet, but we can expect to know in the next couple of days.

As well as a brand new division coming to Call Of Duty WWII. There is going to be a whole new set of basic training coming as well. This news was spread on Twitter as Sledgehammer Games decided not to do their usual weekly update. Instead, they are going to do a much bigger update talking about all of the information at once.

I am very excited to see what this new division will be. The last one that was added, The Cavalry was a lot of fun to play as and while I did not stick with it, I do know some people who now use that as their main division.

It is also worth noting that while the Shadow War DLC pack is coming to PS4 this week and will only be on PS4 for the first 30 days. The new division, basic training and whatever other goodies that are part of this update will be available for all consoles on the same day.

Call Of Duty WWII Is Going Commando

Call Of Duty WWII Is Going Commando!

The other day I was talking about how Sledgehammer Games said that a new division would be coming to Call Of Duty WWII. Well, we did not have to find out more information about this and this update is actually live now!

The new division is the Commando Division the Commando Division in Call Of Duty WWII is pretty fun to play as. The idea behind the Commando Division is being quick to action and also health regeneration so if you are balls to the wall kind of Call Duty WWII player this is the Division for you.

A few of the major features of the Commando Division are that first of all there is a paratrooper insert. This is really cool allows you to get to the battle first and even drop in next to an objective. Health regen is much quicker and when you kill, you activate your health regen. So if you can keep running and gunning and taking people down, your health should always be pretty high. I think that a skilled Commando Division player is going to be a very dangerous enemy.

You can have two basic training perks equipped at any one time which is great and when added with the health regen abilities that the Commando Division has. If you are clever with your basic training, you can come up with something pretty great here.

I have not had much time to put the new Call Of Duty WWII Commando Division through its paces just yet. But I am looking forward to as it looks like it is a lot of fun to play.

Call Of Duty WWII Shadow War Coming This Week

Call Of Duty WWII Shadow War Coming This Week

The last bit of DLC for Call Of Duty WWII is coming this week. It is called Shadow War and it will drop on August 24th on PlayStation 4 and then 30 days later on Xbox One and PC.

There are going to be three new multiplayer maps. Airship sounds really cool as it is set in the Alps and takes place on an airship and on an airship base. Now the airship is not actually flying, but it still sounds pretty cool. Chancellery is a map that takes place in a French chancellery and has lots of nooks and crannies that you can use to your advantage. Excavation sounds really interesting as it is set in an Algerian mine and there is a really cool sounding section that is an old dumping ground for tanks.

Operation Arcane is a new War Mode mission. I love what Sledgehammer Games have done with their War Mode and I am excited to check this out. In a bit of a twist, this mission takes place in a secret research facility that has UFO’s and other weird stuff! It was always said that Hitler had a fascination with extraterrestrial technology!

Last, but not least is the final chapter of the Nazi Zombies chapter, The Frozen Dawn. I am really excited to see how this plays out as from a story point of view I have gotten pretty invested in it. I really hope that the story has an actual conclusion to it and from what I have heard it does.

Shadow War is going to be a lot of fun and it certainly sounds like Sledgehammer Games want the series to go out on a high note. I do think they could have released this a little earlier as some Xbox and PC players will be already enjoying Black Ops IIII by the time this hits them

The Best First Person Shooter Remake Of All Time

The Best First Person Shooter Remake Of All Time

I know that after reading the headline you are going to be sure that the game I am talking about today is Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered. This was available with Infinite Warfare and then eventually on its own. It was a huge success and I think that Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Remastered will be an even bigger success. Those are not the games I am talking about. For me the best first person shooter remake of all time is………Halo 2.

I know that some eyebrows are being raised right now, but the remaster or if you prefer remake of Halo 2 on the Master Chief Collection on Xbox One is one of the best remakes/remasters I have played in general.

The people at 343 Games really outdid themselves and it is the crown jewel of the Master Chief Collection. Granted, Halo 2 is not every ones favorite in the series, but I have always loved that game. Halo 2 Remastered features improved graphics. It is very similar to what they did with the Halo Combat Evolved Remaster, but this one takes thing way further. Everything is so detailed and they created some brand new cutscenes which if you are a huge fan of the Halo lore like I am will really blow you away.

Gameplay wise they have not reinvented the wheel here and if you have played any Halo game before you will know exactly what to expect. However, I feel that the Halo gameplay is some of the best you can get from a first person shooter on a console.

Halo The Master Chief Collection is still getting patches and updates to this day which considering the game is a few years old now is insane! I think that it is a game that is worth being in every Xbox One owners collection and the first thing you need to do when you fire it up is, check out the amazing job they did with Halo 2.

I would love to know what your favorite first person shooter remakes/remasters are in the comments section down below.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Arsenal Map

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Arsenal Map

As I write this Gamescom 2018 is happening right now in Germany. It is a pretty big show, arguably the biggest video game show that Europe has. One of the games on show during the event is, of course, Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII. One of the new things that is being shown is a brand new map called, Arsenal.

The map is set in a manufacturing facility of a powerful company that makes weapons. The map looks really cool and there is quite a bit of gameplay footage floating around online. What I really like about this map is how diverse it is. There are plenty of interior sections, but there are also outside sections that link the different parts of the facility. A good sniper, in theory, could hide and pick people off as they try to move between areas.

Another thing that I like about this map is how busy it is. In a way, it reminds me of a map from Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare. There is so much going on in the background and the aesthetic has a lot going on that I am sure many people will end up getting taken down when they are admiring something in the background or trying to make out some small detail.

People are actually getting the chance to play the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Arsenal map at Gamescom so be sure to look around as there is plenty of footage out there.

Looking Forward To Red Dead Redemption 2

Looking Forward To Red Dead Redemption 2

Ok so Red Dead Redemption 2 may not be what you would class as a “shooter” but for me, it is my most anticipated game for 2018. The first Red Dead Redemption is an absolute masterpiece and one of my favorite games of all time! The story of John Marston was so well written that I could not have been any more invested in it.

This new game, Red Dead Redemption 2 is not a sequel, but a prequel and we play the role of Arthur Morgan who is part of the Van der Linde gang. If you remember back to the first game it was members of this gang, including the leader, Dutch that John was tasked with taking down.

What is interesting about Red Dead Redemption 2 is that you are part of a gang. The first game saw John Marston work on his own, well he had some help with a few folks. But this time you are in an actual gang. From a story point of view, I think it sounds very similar to what Rockstar did with Grand Theft Auto 3. John Marston is part of this game, but what exactly his role is we do not know for sure.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is out this October and I already have the day after booked off work! It is one of those rare games that I am so into that I will only watch a couple of trailers and not read too much about it as I want to experience all this amazing world Rockstar has created first hand.

I would love to know how excited you are for Red Dead Redemption 2 this year. I think had Red Dead 2 not been coming out in 2018 that God Of War would have had the game of the year awards all sewn up, but I think Arthur Morgan and the rest of the Van der Linde gang will have something to say about that.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Battle Armor Getting Nerfed

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Battle Armor Getting Nerfed

Ok, so I will admit that this one flew right past me. However, in the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII beta people were not too happy about the use of battle armor.

Battle armor allows you to take far more damage and as a result, many players felt that it took far too long to kill players who had it and in general it gave them a major unfair advantage. I will admit that I never really noticed that much of a difference, but other people obviously did and Treyarch are making some changes to battle armor in Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII.

Battle armor will no longer completely deflect the damage a player takes, it will just reduce it. I think this is a fair trade-off. I do wonder though if Activision will put some kind of super battle armor paid for DLC that will give players willing to spend a little bit of money an edge?

I am not a huge fan of the idea of battle armor and I can see why some people who take their Call Of Duty very seriously are not keen on it. It is a kind of “if it is not broke, don’t fix it” and many see battle armor as something that does not make the game more fun.

Treyarch is clearly not keen on removing battle armor altogether so it will be interesting to see if they make more changes to it before Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is released this October. I would love to know what you guys thoughts on battle armor are in the comments section.

Some Of The Worst First Person Shooters I Have Played

Some Of The Worst First Person Shooters I Have Played

I thought that I would have a little bit of fun today. I have been playing first person shooters for years now. Ever since my buddy who had a PC in high school let me play Doom, I have been hooked.

Well while I have played some fantastic first person shooters, I have also played some less than great ones too. That is what I want to talk about today, poke a little fun at some first person shooters that I thought were going to be great, but turned out to be a dud.

Trespasser PC 1998

I begged and I begged my parents to let me get a PC just so I could play this game! That is right some people wanted a PC for Doom others Half-Life, The Trespasser was the game that dictated I needed a PC. I saved and I saved, plus the fact I was able to convince my folks that a PC was good for the whole family meant that they footed most of the bill if I am honest.

I did not get Trespasser until after it had come out and read some terrible reviews…. I did not care. I loved Jurassic Park, I was enamored with first person games and this was going to be the best first person game ever made. Turns out it was not. Trespasser at the time did not look horrible, but it is one of the most frustrating games I have ever played. Just picking something up is an exercise in frustration. Plus when you do come head to head with a dinosaur, good luck surviving it. I put hours and hours into this game as it was one of only a handful of PC games I had for a while. I freaking hated this game, but I would never admit that to myself or anyone else.

Blacksite: Area 51 Xbox 360 (also on PS3 and PC) 2007

Man talk about a disappointment! In the days of the original Xbox, one of my favorite first person shooters was a game from Midway called Area 51. I loved aliens and sci-fi so a shooter set in Area 51 had me intrigued from the get go. I loved Area 51 and played through it multiple times. As a matter of fact, it is one of my favorite first person shooters from that console generation. Then came talk of a sequel, Blacksite: Area 51.

This was released on Xbox 360 and I could not have been any more excited. To be honest, while it is set around Area 51 it is not actually a sequel. I pre-ordered this and took the day off from work to play it….. and it sucked. It was very average, by the numbers half-assed first person shooter that had these annoying forced “strategy” elements thrown into it. I would not say that Blacksite: Area 51 is a horrible game, but it is one of the most disappointing games I have ever played.

I would love to know from you guys what some of the most disappointing or worst first person shooters/games you have played over the years are.

Doom Eternal Is Shaping Up To Be Amazing

Doom Eternal Is Shaping Up To Be Amazing

As I write this Doom Eternal, the sequel to the phenomenal reboot of Doom. Is scheduled for release in December 2018. I really hope that it makes this date as in my experience when a game is given a late December release it usually means it is going to come out the following year.

Doom Eternal looks to be taking what Bethesda did with their Doom reboot and kicking it up about ten notches. This time hell is coming to Earth and it is up to Doom Guy to put a stop to them. I think bringing the fight to Earth is really cool, but one thing that has gotten me very excited is the talk that there could be a level set in Heaven! That would be awesome and something that I would love to see.

Lots of new demons are going to be in the game and you can from what I understand shoot limbs off them and shoot holes in them. Seeing them show damage as you battle them sounds really cool. Plus with how gory Doom was, I can only imagine how over the top this is going to be.

One of the strangest additions to Doom Eternal is a new feature called, Invasion. When you have Invasion mode turned on other players can show up when you are playing the single player campaign as a demon and try to kill you! I loved the campaign in that first Doom game so I am not sure if I want another player screwing around with it, but it does sound very interesting.

Doom Eternal is looking like it is going to be a fantastic game and one that I really cannot wait to get my hands on. I just hope we get a concrete release date soon!

Battlefield V Has Disappointing Pre Order Numbers

Battlefield V Has Disappointing Pre Order Numbers

It has been well documented that October 2018 is one of the busiest months for games in many, many years. Battlefield V, Black Ops IIII, Assassins Creed, Red Dead 2, WWE 2K19 and a few others as well are all being released in a few weeks of each other. Clearly, not all of these games can succeed as people only have so much money…… and Battlefield looks like it could be the big AAA that disappoints this holiday season.

Going off pre order numbers, EA and DICE are not over the moon with what Battlefield V has done so far. It is not unusual for a COD game and a Battlefield game to be released close together, but Red Dead Redemption 2 has thrown a wrench in the works. Both Black Ops IIII and Red Dead 2 are vastly outperforming Battlefield V in terms of its pre-orders. Of course, once the game is released and word gets out about it, sales could pick up.

However just a couple of years ago there was a similar situation with Titanfall 2. Titanfall 2 is a phenomenal game it had probably the best first person shooter single player campaign of 2016 and the multiplayer was great too. Unfortunately, it was released in close proximity to Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1. As a result of this Titanfall 2 vastly underperformed even though it received critical acclaim. Even with the praise that it received, Titanfall 2 never managed to recover.

It looks like DICE and EA could have a similar situation on their hands with Battlefield V. I for one am still excited for Battlefield V, but I can see why some people would rather spend their money on Black Ops IIII and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Should You Play The Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout Beta

Should You Play The Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII

Blackout Beta

It has been revealed that Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout mode which is as you know their Battle Royale mode, beta is happening on September 10th. This date as we have previously revealed is for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox and PC will most likely be the next year.

What I am talking about today is if it is worth playing the beta, not just for Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII, but any game. I am always very excited to jump on board with a beta and get the chance to check out a game early. It was no different back in the PlayStation 1 days when I would get excited over a demo, I vividly remember the demo for Resident Evil 2 being a big deal.

A good friend of mine who is an even bigger Call Of Duty fan than I am has no part of these betas! He pre-orders the game and gets the code, but he always gives it away. I never really understood this, but he explained it to me that while he is interested in playing the game early. He would much rather wait until the game is finished and play it then when it is fully released.

Apparently, this is something a lot of people do, he also went onto explain that he would not really download any demos back in the day on the PS3 or Xbox 360, he would always rather wait for the full game. I find this very interesting and it is something that I wish I had the discipline to do. After all, there are plenty of games that do not have betas or demos and we do not get to play them until they are done and I manage.

However, when I know there is a beta or a demo out there, I am too weak to resist the temptation! Do you guys take part in every beta or do you sometimes like to wait and experience the game when it is all done?

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout Beta Date Announced

Call Of Duty Blackout Beta Date Announced!

We have all just gotten over the excitement of the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII multiplayer beta. Now though we know for sure when the Call Of Duty Blackout beta is going to be.

What we know is that the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout Mode beta is going to be starting on September 7th on PlayStation 4. More than likely, PlayStation 4 players will get the beta 7 days before the everyone else.

What has been revealed or if your prefer, leaked is that you will be able to play in squads of four players or you can go by yourself if you would prefer. So if you have been hooked on Fortnite, you will know exactly what to expect here.

I think that Blackout Mode is going to be a lot of fun. A huge map that is made up of areas of past Black Ops maps sounds cool to me! I really cannot wait to get my hands on this and see how it stacks up against games like PUBG and Fortnite. The Battle Royale genre is becoming very crowded, but if there is one game that can muscle its way in, you would have to say that it is Call Of Duty.

Some kind of official statement is probably going to drop in the next few hours, but as of now, it looks like this September 7th date is locked in for PlayStation 4 owners. Also, remember not to delete your client like I told you yesterday as doing so will make you have to wait longer on the 7th to play it.

Do Not Delete Your Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Beta Client

Do Not Delete Your Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Beta Client!

Ok so today my blog post is one half advice, one quarter news and another quarte of me being a dumb ass! The Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII beta over the weekend was a huge success. I have said this a few times now, but I legit have not heard anyone say that they did not like it.

Once the beta finished I decided to delete the client from my Xbox One. After all, it was done and dusted and taking up around 30 GB (if I remember correctly) of hard drive space and like most of you, hard drive space is premium on my Xbox One.

Well turns out I maybe should have just left it on there. It was just announced that this client will magically become the client for the Black Ops IIII Blackout beta next month! So in other words, if you did not delete it you would not have to wait an hour or so for it to download to start playing Blackout.

Kudos, Treyarch for doing this I just wish I was not so trigger happy on deleting it from my Xbox! No doubt I will be sent a new code when Blackout rolls out, but I will have to wait for the client to download again! Last time it took a couple of hours and that is with fiber optic internet.

So the moral of the story is if you are reading this and going to be part of the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout beta in September. Do not be dumb like me! Keep that client there and save yourself another big download.

Battlefield V Getting Second Alpha Test This Week

Battlefield V Getting Second Alpha Test This Week

I will admit that my PC could not run Battlefield V at a respectable level, but if your PC can then you may be able to take part in the second Battlefield V Alpha Test which is taking place on the 14th of August.

Once again this is only for PC Battlefield V players and it is invite only. If you were part of the first alpha test then you will automatically be asked to be part of this one. However, EA is apparently sending out more invites as they really want to put those servers through their paces.

The main focus of this Battlefield V Alpha Test is matchmaking and squad joining functionality. DICE and EA want players to let them know who this is going and if it is as smooth as can be. All of the weapons, maps and so on are being tweaked so that EA can make sure the game is as well balanced as possible.

They have said that they want players to play the game as they normally would, but to keep an eye on how they are progressing. DICE and EA came under a lot of fire for the progression system that they put in Star Wars Battlefront II so it goes without saying that they want to make sure it is just right for Battlefield V.

While it sucks that console only players cannot be part of the alpha (to be honest I would have been more surprised if they had) EA have said that they want to hear feedback from people who are normally console gamers. I find this very interesting and it shows that they are not just focusing on the PC.

Hopefully, those of you who are part of the Battlefield V Alpha Test will have a lot of fun and do your part to help shape Battlefield V into the game we all want it to be. On a side note in my 30 years of gaming, I have only ever managed to get into two alphas!!!!

Thoughts Healing In Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII

Thoughts Healing In Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII

Like most of you guys reading this, I have spent most of the weekend playing the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII. I was lucky in that I could play the PS4 beta last week as well, but I did not get to spend as much time with it as I would have liked.

One thing that I want to talk about specifically is the healing in Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII. I knew going in that the auto-healing of the past games was gone and that we would have to manually press a button to heal ourselves.

You may think this is not a big deal at all, but it changes the gameplay dramatically and I will be honest and say that at first…. I did not care for it! The past few COD games, even Call Of Duty WWII with its “boots on the ground” style gameplay. Have all been balls to the wall, run and gun style games. You take damage and chances are (unless someone finishes you off) you will get your health back by running around looking for more prey. That is not the case anymore, you have to actually press a button to heal yourself.

This takes far less time than you may think, but it is an extra step that has been added to the gameplay and one you have to get used to. For example, I died a million times in situations where I was down to my last little bit of health, but rather than ducking and taking a second to heal. I kept on shooting trying to get that last hit. Had I hid, healed and then started shooting I may have had a fighting chance!

In the early days of Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII I have a feeling the best players are going to be those who can handle this extra healing step that you have to take.

The Battlefield 5 Beta Is Nearly Here

The Battlefield 5 Beta Is Nearly Here

While the Battlefield 5 alpha has already happened there is a lot of buzz right now that the beta is close..like a few days away close! I know this sounds crazy as EA like to hype these things up at least a few weeks in advance, but this rumor is picking up steam thanks to something that was posted on Origin.

There was a tile on Origin that listed two dates. August 13th was the preload date and August 14th was the release date. This is very weird as first of all a beta never has a preload date… I literally cannot think of one beta that has had a preload date. But also the fact that it is just a few days away and so close to the Black Ops 4 beta makes it very strange.

The Battlefield 5 Twitter account has been posting some fun and cryptic tweets that make it sound like the beta is very close. As Battlefield 5 is released this October the beta will be happening sooner than later, but I would have thought that EA and DICE would have made a much bigger deal about it.

Of course, these two dates have now been removed and it now says that it is no longer available on Origin. Perhaps this was a mistake? Perhaps it means they are just going to surprise drop the beta on us? Or perhaps this is the date for another alpha to do a little more testing before the bigger beta test?

Hopefully, EA or DICE will come out and say soon when the Battlefield V beta is happening as this tease or mistake has made many fans want it even more.

PC Specs Required For Cod Black Ops 4 Beta Announced

PC Specs Required For Cod Black Ops 4 Beta Announced

This coming weekend sees PC gamers get to experience the fun that PlayStation 4 owners had last week. The Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 beta starts on the 10th of August and to say gamers are excited is one heck of an understatement. Treyarch has just released the minimum specs required for those wanting to take part in the beta.

One thing that is worth noting is that they have made it a point to say that these specs are for the beta and not the full game. I would think that the specs for the full game will be pretty much identical and if your PC can run the beta or if it could run Call Of Duty WW2 you should be fine.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 Beta Minimum PC Specs

OS: Windows 7 64-Bit or later

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k or AMD equivalent

RAM: 8GB RAM

HDD: 25GB Free Space

Video: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2 GB / GTX 1050 2GB or AMD Radeon HD 7850

DirectX: Version 11.0 compatible video card or equivalent

Network: Broadband Internet connection

Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

There does not appear to be anything too crazy here and if you were able to play Call Of Duty WW2 without any issues then I think you should be fine. In case you were wondering how to be part of this beta (which is also for Xbox One and once again PlayStation 4) you will need to have pre-ordered the game or have been given a code. This is not an open beta, but if you have a look online you might be able to find a site that is giving away codes, also check Activision and Treyarch’s social media accounts.

This beta is going to feature a new game mode, a new map and a ton of cool weapons to check out so it sounds like a lot of fun. No matter what you are playing it on I would love to hear how excited you are for the Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 beta in the comments section down below.

Battlefield V vs Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII

Battlefield V vs Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII

Let me start this by saying that I am a fan of both Call Of Duty and Battlefield. However, with them releasing so close together, it is impossible not to pit them against each other.

I will say that for me I get a different kind of gaming experience out of Battlefield than I do Call Of Duty. While Battlefield is fun, Battlefield is much more structured and if you do not pull your weight with the class you have picked then your team will suffer and most probably ask you what the hell you are doing! Call Of Duty on the other hand to me is more laid back and more fun. If I had to pick a favorite, in all honesty, it would be the Call Of Duty series.

I think that DICE are putting out a great product this year with Battlefield V. The game is going to have a story mode, Battle Royal mode, a co-op mode called Combined Arms and of course a very robust multiplayer mode. In all Battlefield V is absolutely stacked with content. The problem I have with Battlefield V is the way that DICE and EA are marketing it. You really have to do some digging to find out all the cool stuff that Battlefield V offers. Activision, on the other hand, have a real in your face, badass campaign going with Black Ops IIII. Granted it is only August and the hype train will pick up. But I wonder for many people if Black Ops IIII already has their money.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII from the boys and gals at Treyarch and Activision looks to be a blast and from the little bit of the beta I played, I can tell you it is. Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII may have ditched the single player campaign. However, Zombies is far more story driven this year and is coming with three chapters as opposed to the usual one at launch. Of course the multiplayer is there, but Blackout is the real drawing card for Black Ops IIII. This is a Battle Royale mode that sounds like its very own take on the genre and people are very intrigued. I have yet to hear one negative thing said about Black Ops IIII so that tells you that they are doing something right.

I like some other people will be picking up both games, but I understand that the majority will be just getting one first person shooter this October. The “experts” are predicting that while Battlefield V will do well, Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is going to be the kind first person shooter this holiday season. As good as Battlefield V is, Call Of Duty WWII gave us a great World War II experience last year so maybe that is another reason people are more focused on Black Ops IIII?

New Secret Mode Coming To COD Black Ops IIII Beta

New Secret Mode Coming To COD Black Ops IIII Beta

If you were lucky enough to have some fun with the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII PlayStation 4 beta then you know that we are in for a real treat this October. I have seriously not heard anyone have anything bad to say about it which was nice.

Well while that first beta was for PlayStation 4 Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII players only. In the coming days, a second beta will be taking place and this one is not just for PlayStation players. Xbox One and PC gamers are going to be able to get in on the action too.

What is interesting is that Treyarch has been having a lot of fun letting us know that they are not done with us yet. They have teased that a new map is going to be part of this second beta and that is awesome. However, the real big tease is that this second beta is going to have a new game mode! I have no idea what this could be and I cannot even think of a guess. I would love it if it was Treyarch putting their own spin of War Mode as that was a lot of fun in WWII.

As Blackout is getting its very own beta at some point in September, we know that it will not be that. Still, the COD community is very excited at what this new game mode could be. I would love to hear what some guesses are as to what this new game mode in the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII beta will be.

What Is In The Battlefield V Deluxe Edition

What Is In The Battlefield V Deluxe Edition

While games like Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII and Red Dead Redemption 2 are being released with so many special editions it is hard to keep track of them all. Battlefield V is keeping things more simple for us by having only one special edition so far and that is called the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition.

Of course, the big thing you have to ask yourself is if the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition is worth the extra 20 or so bucks over the standard edition of the game?

In all honesty, Battlefield V Deluxe Edition is only really worth the money if you are pre-ordering it. The reason that I say this is that one of the big selling points of this Deluxe Edition is that you get to take part in the beta a little earlier than everyone else. Which by the time you read this could be over anyway! So what do you get if you have missed the early beta or are not interested in that?

Well, you do get one extra special soldier set. You get extra paratrooper apparel which will give you skins, camo patterns, headgear and face paint. So if this sounds like something that you would be interested in then the Battlefield V Deluxe Edition could be good for you.

For me personally, while I am very excited for Battlefield V. I think that they could have done a bit better with this Deluxe Edition. A poster, an art book or some other kind of physical item should have been included at this price point

Best First Person Shooter Games For 2019

Best First Person Shooter Games For 2019

Yes, 2018 is not close to being over yet and we still have Battlefield V and Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII to come. However, today is a slow day so I thought I would share with you what I feel are some of the best first person shooter games of 2019.

Doom Eternal

I loved the 2016 reboot of Doom. It took what is a kind of weird and not story driven concept and made a fully fleshed out story and also a game that was so kick ass I have played through it multiple times. The sequel, Doom Eternal is bringing Hell right to Doom Guys front door and I cannot wait to put those demon SOB’s back in their place.

Dying Light 2

You know at first I hated Dying Light! I felt it was too hard, too cheap and no fun. But I stuck with it and once I reached level 10 or so I realized how brilliant the game was. Dying Light 2 is once again putting you in a zombie filled world where you need to shoot and use your parkour skills to survive. I hope that this time they make the game a little easier in the early stages, but this is a game I am very looking forward to.

Metro: Exodus

Taking place a couple of years after Metro: Last Light. Metro: Exodus is once again mixing in a whole lot of horror with the first person action. What I love about this series is just how messed up some of the creature designs are. When playing any of the Metro games, you always have an uneasy feeling as to what could be coming your way next and Metro Exodus looks to be kicking that up several notches.

Halo Infinite

While this has not been officially confirmed for a 2019 release date. I think releasing this along with Gears Of War 5 would be a huge exclusive smash hit for Microsoft. I love the Halo series! As far as lore goes, Halo is one of my all-time favorite games and I am very interested to see where this part of the story takes us. While next to nothing is known about the story, I can tell you I am all in!

These are just a handful of the first person shooter games released next year (unless they are delayed) that I am looking forward to, but what about you guys? What FPS games of 2019 are you most excited for?

Call Of Duty WWII’s New Sandbox Map Is Awesome

Call Of Duty WWII’s New Sandbox Map Is Awesome

Call Of Duty WWII Days Of Summer is a new community event that is here right now for PlayStation 4 owners. It sucks that Xbox One and PC owners are getting what feels like a lesser version of this event. However, today I wanted to talk a little about the new Sandbox map that is part of this event.

Sandbox is a map that looks unlike any of the other Call Of Duty WWII maps. Of course, the fact that you are playing as a bunch of little green Army Men is a huge part of this. But the one feature that I think really sets this map apart from all the rest is the “environmental hazard”

We have had environmental hazards in first person shooter before, but I have never encountered one like this. As the little Army Men are running around. As well as watching out for the enemy, you need to look out for that big bully, quartermaster Captain Butcher who is looking to melt the Army Men with his magnifying glass! What the heck is this dudes problem? When you get killed like this it is really hard to get mad as it is so funny.

I think that Sandbox is a fantastic map and just what Call Of Duty WWII needed. Currently, it is listed as being a PlayStation 4 exclusive for 30 days which is the duration of the event. Hopefully Xbox One and PC owners will get this map at some point as it is a lot of fun.

Call Of Duty WWII Days of Summer Event Starts Now

Call Of Duty WWII Days of Summer Event Starts Now

I literally just wrote a blog post yesterday theorizing if the folks at Sledgehammer Games would give us another Call Of Duty event before Black Ops IIII dropped. I was worried that Activision would want all eyes on Black Ops IIII, but that is not the case as we have a summer event and best of all you can play it now.

Call Of Duty WWII Days of Summer is live as you read this. Like past events, it is going to last 30 days. Now rather than telling you what this event is all about I want to focus on how weird the rollout of this event it.

As I said it is lasting for 30 days and the big thing about this event is a new summer-themed map that is called Sandbox. What is weird is that Sandbox is exclusive to PlayStation for 30 days, but that is how long the event lasts. I am really hopeful that this is a mistake and that it is live for Xbox and PC as well or that really is not fair and I fail to see what having an exclusive map this late in the game achieves for Sony, Activision or Sledgehammer Games.

Sandbox is really awesome as not only is the map summer themed the characters have been altered so that they look like those little green army men. You know the ones that were in a million games in the 90’s and early 00’s, the ones from Toy Story, the ones that your dad would go mad at you for when he stood on them with his bare feet!

I really like the idea the Call Of Duty WWII Days Of Summer event and playing as little green army men is cool, but I just wish they communicated better as to what the deal with this 30-day exclusivity is.

Black Ops 4 Beta Trailer Teases Blackout Mode

Black Ops 4 Beta Trailer Teases Blackout Mode

Activision and Treyarch have released a trailer for the upcoming multiplayer beta for Call Of Duty Black Ops 4. The trailer is pretty interesting in that it shows off the maps, modes, specialists that we can play as during the beta and that is great. Actually, the trailer is very well done and got me pumped up for the beta that is taking place first on PlayStation 4 on the 3rd of August.

While that is great if you stated until the very end of the Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 multiplayer trailer then you were treated to a sneak peek of Blackout mode. Sneak peek is the right word as it is only a few seconds. But we see armored vehicles, a helicopter and all kinds of balls to the wall action happening! It looks fantastic and while it may not be “gameplay” footage it still showcases just how nuts and fun Blackout mode in Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 is going to be.

I think this is a very fun way to tease Blackout mode and in a way, it reminds me of a Marvel movie where the tease what is coming next, but you have to stay all the way until the end to see it. I wonder how many people missed this Blackout teaser because they stopped the video once they thought the trailer was over and it was just advertising the game?

As I said the Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 beta is coming first to PlayStation 4. However, the really exciting news is that next month we will get the chance to test out Blackout mode! I have to be honest and say while I am excited to take part in this beta. Part of me wants to not bother and wait until the game is actually released……. Unfortunately, I am very weak willed so I will be waiting for the instant it goes live to play it!
