Battlefield 1 Premium Pass Is Once Again Free

Battlefield 1 Premium Pass Is Once Again Free

The Road To Battlefield V is well and truly underway and while it has been a bit of a bumpy road. Most of us are still looking forward to it. To get players hyped up for the game, Dice are once again offering the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass for free!

This means that you will get all four expansion packs which are offering you a ton more content. It is crazy how much more content that Dice packed into their expansion packs, but there is so much fun to be had here that it is well worth doing. Even if Battlefield 1 has been sitting on your shelf for over a year and you have thought the game was done. It is well worth firing up and taking advantage of this free offer.

So to give you an idea of how awesome the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass is here is some of the content that you get with it. You get a phenomenal 16 maps which is great. There are new game modes and operation’s that will keep you very busy. New classes, weapons, and vehicles help add more variety to the gameplay.

I really cannot overstate how much content is included with this. I never purchased the two later expansion packs for Battlefield 1 when they were released and I have been having a great time with some of the maps that I have never played on before.

Despite me checking all kinds of sources I cannot find a date for when this offer comes to an end. However, I do know that this is a limited time thing so do not mess around and download it as soon as you can. I think that this is a great way for you to get hyped up for Battlefield V!

Sony Playstation 4 Finally Allows Cross Play In Fortnite

Sony Playstation 4 Finally Allows Cross Play In Fortnite!

Here is some news that we never thought would happen. Sony has lowered their stance on playing all by themselves and they are now allowing PS4 players to play with Xbox One and Nintendo Switch players.

Sony had drawn a line in the sand and said that they would not allow crossplay. To be fair they are the market leader of this generation and by a very long margin so you can see why they would not want to acknowledge number 2 and 3.

Something has changed though and they have decided that they want to play nice with the others and now crossplay for Fortnite Battle Royale on PlayStation 4 is in a beta. This is really awesome news and hopefully, it is going to lead to Sony allowing cross play on other games.

Just imagine if PS4 and Xbox One players could play games like Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII, Battlefield V and Overwatch! The wait times would be much shorter and as a guy who plays Overwatch on Xbox One, I would welcome this.

I think that a lot of this will be down to developers. It has already been said that the new Fallout game is not going to support any kind of crossplay. So it will be interesting to see if Sony does lower their stance on full platform cross play what other companies go along with it and allow cross play on their games.

I am sure that this is going to be huge in the Fortnite community and it is going to expand the player base even more. This coinciding with the new season of Fortnite is the perfect time for them to announced and do this.

Thoughts On Latest Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Trailer

Thoughts On Latest Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Trailer

If you are interested in Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII then no doubt you have already watched the new launch trailer for Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII more than once. It is a fantastic trailer and it certainly got me more pumped up for its impending release.

I also think it is a very clever trailer in that it showcases Zombies, Blackout and the multiplayer all in quick succession. I can see many people who have not been following Cod Black Ops IIII as closely as we have being pulled in by this trailer and think that this is a game that they have to get in on.

There was, of course, a ton of stuff shown in the trailer, but there were some really cool things that I caught when watching it the second time around. BASE jumping looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. Now I have done this in Just Cause 3 and had a lot of fun with it so I am interested to see how this works in Cod Black Ops IIII.

Another thing that made me smile was the part where you see a guy riding on an ATV, but shooting at the same time. Using the vehicles in the Blackout beta so I will probably not look as badass as the guy in the trailer, but this is something I am looking forward to trying.

I think that the launch trailer for Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is the final nudge that many people may have needed to go and pre order the game or at the very least make sure it is on their Christmas list this year.

Interesting Changes For Battlefield V At Launch

Interesting Changes For Battlefield V At Launch

While most people’s attention is focused on Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII which incredibly is just a few weeks away. DICE is still hard at work on Battlefield V and they have clearly taken onboard what people who were part of the beta said seriously as they are planning some very interesting changes for Battlefield V by the time it launches.

One of the more annoying things about the beta was how you would sometimes spawn in with a gun that had next to no ammo and you would have no health pack. So you were pretty easy pickings whenever you spawned back into a battle and it could make things more frustrating than fun.

DICE plan to address this by having certain weapons spawn with more ammo and other weapons having their ammo capacity increased. DICE are also toying with the idea of having each player spawn in with one health pack when they spawn in. I like the idea of this as it will save you the hassle of having to find a medic or a supply station every time you spawn back in.

As a sort of counter to this DICE are planning on cutting back the number of supply stations on each map, but you can build your own when you take a point.

I actually like the sound of these changes. They are not changes that are going to make the game easier or “noob friendly” I think that these changes are going to make the game (especially matches that take a long time) more fun. There is nothing worse than spawning in and being taken out right away because you have spawned in way underprepared for battle.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Aiming For Native 4K Resolution

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Aiming For Native 4K Resolution

Here is some great news if you have a nice 4K TV and an Xbox One X. It seems that Treyarch is going all out to make sure that the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII has a native 4K resolution on the powerhouse of a console that is known as the Xbox One X.

It is worth noting that this is said to be true for the PlayStation 4 Pro as well. However, in comparison shots and videos, the Xbox One X looks sharper so there is some talk that the PS4 Pro may not be able to hit a native 4K resolution in the same way that the Xbox One X can. As the Xbox One X is the most powerful game console on the market right now it is not all that surprising that it will have the edge in processing power.

The Call Of Duty games always look fantastic so I really cannot wait to see Black Ops IIII in 4K…. Although for me personally, that may not be the case as I actually pre-ordered this for the PlayStation 4 instead of the Xbox One. I only have a regular PS4, but I do have an Xbox One X!

I would say that if you are still on the fence about what system to pre order Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII for I would suggest that you have a real hard think about if you would rather the slightly better visuals that you will more than likely get on the Xbox One X or the 7 days early access to new content on the PlayStation 4.

PS4 To Once Again Get Timed Exclusive Call Of Duty Content

PS4 To Once Again Get Timed Exclusive Call Of Duty Content

This may not come as a surprise to most people out there, but once again Activision and Sony are teaming up to make sure that the PlayStation gets new content in a Call Of Duty game first.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII when it is released in the coming weeks will see its updates and new content released first on PlayStation 4. This has been the case for pretty much all of the Call Of Duty games this console generation so it should not come as a huge surprise.

Thankfully unlike with Call Of Duty WWII. Xbox One owners do not have to wait 30 days to get their hands on new content. It appears that the timed exclusivity this time around is only for one week. Sure it would be better if everyone got it at the same time, but that is not the day and age we live in.

I think that this smart move by Activision and Treyarch. Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is different from past COD games in that it is ditching the single player campaign. Treyarch and Activision plan to support Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII with regular updates, far quicker than what we have been used to. Making Xbox One owners wait an extra 30 days is a sure fire way to make them lose interest. So while having to wait a week is not ideal, it is better than the 30 days it was for Call Of Duty WWII.

With Nuke Town, updates to the Blackout Map and of course new characters and weapons. Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is going to have more new content than any other Call Of Duty game before it.

Is Battlefield V In Trouble

Is Battlefield V In Trouble

Let me start by saying that I really did enjoy the Battlefield V beta and I am still looking forward to playing it this November. Still, the beta left some people with mixed feelings and one of these is popular YouTuber.

Now I am not saying his opinion is the be all and end all of Battlefield V. However, the things he was saying are what I have heard a lot of people say. He talked about how it felt that there was a lack of content, the maps were small and there was just nothing really blowing people away.

Again, I had fun with the beta, but the word on the street for Battlefield V is certainly not “excitement” as it was before the beta happened. With a campaign, multiplayer and of course Battle Royale. It all looked like DICE and EA had learned their lesson from the debacle that was Star Wars Battlefront II. Well, it looks like people are still a little wary of EA and went into the Battlefield V beta with not exactly high expectations.

It is not just the less than enthusiastic reaction to the Battlefield V beta that makes people think it could struggle. Battlefield V is coming out after Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII which so far has been given nothing, but a ton of praise. Then there is also Red Dead Redemption 2, not to mention all the other big games like Forza Horizon 4 and the new Assassins Creed that are coming out too!

I am still interested in Battlefield V, but as much as I love the series I have to admit there is this kind of depressing attitude towards the game right now.

You Can Still Play Old Call Of Duty Games Online On PS3

You Can Still Play Old Call Of Duty Games Online On PS3

I am a huge fan of the Call Of Duty series, but I am the kind of player who will get super into a game, in this case, Call Of Duty WWII and ignore the previous year’s game. I fully expect to do the same thing when Black Ops IIII is released.

Well, I do actually have all the past Call Of Duty games in my collection and the other day I was in my game room, a bit bored and got the hankering to play a little Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare. No I have this on the Xbox One, but the Xbox One is in the living room, the PS3 is in the game room and I have the game for that also. I fired it up and got into a game right away. Sure after not playing it on PS3 for a couple of years, it looked really rough, but I still found a game.

It made me think, “I wonder if other games will work?” well I tried all of my Call Of Duty games that I have on PlayStation 3 and I was blown away by not just Advanced Warfare, but two other games that I got into matches super quick. Modern Warfare 3 is very easy to get a game, I have heard that these are “hacked” servers/lobbies, but I do not know anything about that. All I know is that I was able to play team deathmatch with no hassle at all and it was a blast. Also, I felt that this has aged a hell of a lot better than Advanced Warfare on PS3. Although to be fair I do have the Xbox One version to compare that to.

Now the other game I want to talk about is weird, Call Of Duty Ghosts. This is probably my least favorite game in the series and the one I put the least amount of time in. I thought I would try it and again there were people playing it!

I was thinking to myself, who are these maniacs still playing Call Of Duty on PlayStation 3? Then I realized that I was one of them and I had an awesome time….. well maybe not with Ghosts!

Will Doom Eternal Be The Big FPS Of 2019

Will Doom Eternal Be The Big FPS Of 2019?

2018 is a great year for shooter fans but 2019 looks to be the same if not even better. So far for me, one game that I am very excited for is Doom Eternal.

The reboot of Doom was truly incredible and while we have had a teaser trailer and little bits of info given to us from the folks at ID and Bethesda. What we have seen looks nuts. Hell on Earth is the phrase that they keep throwing around and the demons coming to Earth is something I can get behind. It will make for some pretty interesting level designs in comparison to what we had in the reboot of Doom.

Speaking of demons the teaser trailer showed some of the demons that we saw in the first game, all be it a little different looking. They have said that there will be loads more demons in Doom Eternal. I loved the designs in the reboot of Doom so I am very excited to see what sick and twisted creatures they have in store for Doom Eternal. There is also the rumor that heaven is going to come into play in Doom Eternal which is something I think sounds very interesting.

I really do think that Doom Eternal has what it takes to not just be the big first person shooter of 2019, but one of the biggest games in general. So far no concrete release date has been given, but most people seem to feel that we can expect Doom Eternal in late 2019. I just hope that the rumors of it not coming until 2020 are false.

100 Player Call Of Duty Black Ops 4

100 Player Call Of Duty Black Ops 4, Yes Please!

We all knew that getting to that magical number 100 was the goal for Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII’s Blackout mode. After all, this is the number that both PUBG and Fortnite Battle Royale offer.

I like many of you probably did assume that the player count being set to 80 was because of how graphically demanding Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is. Well this is not the case and during the beta, Treyarch actually increased the player count to 88 and for the last dying hours of the beta, the number jumps to 100!

Seeing this so soon is very impressive and maybe that 80 player count was because they were not sure on how the servers could handle that many players. Well, I never once had a problem while taking part in the beta.

Now I was not able to play one of the matches that allowed for 100 players, but the people I know who did, said that it worked just as good as it did with 80, then 88. It looks like the game is more than capable of handling 100 players. Which when you take into consideration how good Blackout looks in comparison to PUBG and Fortnite Battle Royale. Which is not meant as a put down on those games, but they are not exactly graphically demanding games.

I had a feeling that the player count would be increased to 100 at some point, maybe even in time for the October release. However, I did not expect it to happen during the beta!

Huge Maps Coming To Battlefield V

Huge Maps Coming To Battlefield V

The Battlefield V beta is done and dusted and now if you want to play Battlefield V you are going to have to wait until the game is released this November. The good folks at DICE recently spoke out in regards to the size of the maps that we can expect in Battlefield.

One criticism that some players had about the Battlefield V beta was that the maps felt a little small. I am not sure I would personally agree with that, but I did think that some maps were crammed with way too much stuff and that was what may have made them feel small.

Well DICE have come out and said not to worry as Battlefield V is going to have some massive maps. DICE have drawn attention to the Hamada map which is the map that is set in North Africa and is a massive 1.5 km in its size!

I like a good mix of large open maps that make you have to look for an opponent as well as smaller maps where it is full on action and people dropping every few seconds. I never had an issue with the size of the maps in the Battlefield V beta, but clearly, some people did. Well, it is good that DICE have come out and said that Battlefield V is still going to feature large maps for us to wage war on.

The few maps that we got to test out in the beta were very well made so I am very interested to see how some of the larger maps like the Hamada map turn out.

What Would Make Cod Black Ops IIII Blackout Mode Even Better

What Would Make Blackout Mode Better?

Like many of you reading this I have spent a great deal of time with the Blackout beta for Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII. I think that it is fantastic and that Activision and Treyarch really do have a winner on their hands here.

However, there are some things that I think need to be “fixed” before it is released next month, but hey that is what the beta is for. Let me start by saying that these are very minor complaints and for the most part the mode is tremendous and I have had a blast.

The main thing that I have had an issue with and this may just be me, but sometimes it feels like it takes an age to come across an actual weapon. I can sometimes come across about five scopes before I find a single gun. I know that this is not something everyone has encountered, but it is something that I have come across in many matches.

One other thing that took me by surprise is the size of the map. I do not have an issue with this, I love how large and open the map is. Plus a lot of that empty space I am sure is going to be filled in with stuff over the next year. However, I have had a couple of friends say that it takes too long to get from one part of the map to another and sometimes you can go a long time without seeing another player. I personally think this is a nitpick and you can always jump on a quad or a 4X4 if it bothers you that much.

The only other thing that I have an issue with is the vehicles. They handle kind of weird it reminds me of the way you drive the Warthog in Halo. It is not terrible, but still, after a ton of games, I have had a hard time getting used to it.

Let me state I love Blackout mode in Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII and have a feeling it is going to be one of my go to games when I only have a spare 30 minutes or so to game. However, I am very interested to see what little fixes and changes Treyarch make as a result of this beta.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout Adds More Players

Call Of Duty Blackout Adds More Players

If you are a PlayStation 4 owner then you may have already been enjoying Blackout mode thanks to the beta on PlayStation 4 that started a little earlier than PC and Xbox One which is coming later this week.

Well, something cool has actually happened and I did not notice this until a buddy of mine had pointed it out…. Even though I was playing the game! We all knew that the player count for Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout mode was going to be 80 players per game. Treyarch did say that this was to start with and that 80 was never officially the most players that the game could handle.

It turns out they were able to up the player count far quicker than many people thought as already they have increased it to 88 players! This is pretty amazing that they were able to do this so fast. Maybe they just wanted to make sure that their servers were going to be strong enough. The more players the better. So while I was not bothered about the player count being 80 adding in 8 extra more people is great with me.

No doubt Treyarch and Activision will be hoping to get this number up to 100 like Fortnite Battle Royale has. Maybe they will go even further and try to put more than 100! I think the map that is being used in Blackout mode is certainly big enough to handle more players.

I really think that Treyarch has struck gold with Blackout mode and it is going to make Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 the biggest selling game of 2018.

Is DICE Going For A More Realistic Battlefield V

Is DICE Going For A More “Realistic” Battlefield V?

I will tell you guys right of the bat that I have no problem with the tone, style and the fact that women are part of Battlefield V. Some people do not like the more “crazy” customization options thinking that it is unrealistic and not in the same tone as the WWII setting that Battlefield V has.

I really do not know what people are complaining about. Call Of Duty WWII allows you to have some pretty strange weapons in contrast to the setting and Battlefield has never really been a series that has been 100 percent concerned with being historically accurate.

During a recent live stream, Battlefield V producer had a lot to say about making Battlefield V more realistic he had this to say.

“We heard the community, we understand there were some concerns about, hey, where’s the authenticity? We want players to be excited about customizing their characters with authentic gear. We dialed it back a bit. It was pretty crazy. We wanted to offer some authenticity, and that’s important to us, that’s important to our players.”

I get what he is saying, but you really do not want to start bowing down to community pressure, especially in regards to something that really does not matter. While the WWII setting is very well done, I for one have no problem with some of the crazier looking characters that I came across during the beta.

Later in the same live stream, he had this to say,

“Nothing is off the table. Again, we’ll watch how the community reacts, maybe we’ll try something. The nice thing about the armory, is we can put something out there, and if it doesn’t stick, it doesn’t stick. But first and foremost, we want to start with this authenticity approach.”

Now I am be reading into this wrong, but to me, it seems like they are going to tone things down a little bit and try to keep things more authentic, probably during the initial released. However after this, they may introduce weapons, camo and so on that is a little more out there.

I have to be honest and say that I am really surprised that this many people have a problem with Battlefield V and its level of “realism”. I for one like the style of the game and am looking forward to getting my hands on it when it is released this November.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout First Thoughts

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout First Thoughts

If you are like me then you no doubt have been very eager to check out YouTube videos or play the beat for yourself of Blackout. The new Battle Royale mode that is really the main selling point of this year’s Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII.

The trailers made Blackout mode look a lot of fun, but the early reports show just how much of a blast Blackout mode is. It plays and feels like a typical game of Call Of Duty, but the huge map and the vehicles that are scattered around make things so much more interested. We already knew that the map was going to be very diverse, but playing it is crazy as you go from one area to the next.

I think that we all knew this was going to be good. But even in the first couple of games that I have played in the beta, I can tell you Blackout mode in Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is the real deal. This mode is just so much fun to play and I feel that it is the kind of mode where you do not even have to be all that good at Call Of Duty to enjoy.

Now granted I have only been playing team games so far, but I have not had any kind of framerate issues or anything like that. The only thing that I was not too keen on is the driving. It felt kind of weird as there is no actual “drive” button so you just control it moving. I know I am doing a bad job of explaining this, but driving the vehicles does not feel like you would expect.

This is a very small complaint I will admit. I really cannot wait to spend some real quality time with this tonight. I think that Activision has a monster of a hit on their hands with Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII.

Medal Of Honor Will It Ever Return

Medal Of Honor Will It Ever Return?

While all the focus in the coming weeks is, of course, going to be on Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII and Battlefield V. I was thinking that you could make the argument that neither of those games would exist if it was not for Medal Of Honor.

The first game in the Medal Of Honor series was released back in 1999 on the original PlayStation. It was a huge deal at the time and even had Steven Spielberg penning the story for it. From 1999 until 2007 there was an incredible 14 Medal Of Honor games released! The series was actually very popular, but by the time Medal Of Honor: Airborne was released in 2007 many people had moved onto Call Of Duty and Battlefield.

The Medal Of Honor series was rested for a couple of years and then brought back in 2010 with a reboot of the series. While the reboot did not blow critics away it was generally well received and it actually sold pretty well. Well enough to get a sequel two years later called Medal Of Honor War Fighter. This game was a bit of a mess. It had a terrible campaign, atrocious AI and it was more of a chore to play than it was fun. Add to this the fact it sold very poorly and it was a nail in the coffin for the series.

EA and DICE are hard at work on their Battlefield and Battlefront series now. So I would be very surprised if Medal Of Honor made a return, but maybe one day it could. The last game in the series really did damage the brand so if there is a new game, a reboot would be most likely what it would be. It is a shame it is not as fondly remembered as it should be as current first person shooters owe a lot to Medal Of Honor.

Battlefield 5 Beta After Action Thoughts

Battlefield 5 Beta After Gameplay Thoughts

I have not spent as much time with the Battlefield 5 beta as I would have liked. However, I have still managed to spend a couple hours with the Xbox One version and I wanted to share my thoughts.

To start with I must admit that I know there is some controversy in regards to EA - DICE censoring the chat. I have not experienced that myself so I cannot comment on it. One thing I can comment on the lag that people are talking about.

My Battlefield V experience went ok for the most part, but I did experience a fair bit of lag in most of the games I played. It was not game breaking or anything and to be fair it is a beta so I am sure it will be fixed. So I am not sure why people are freaking out about it.

I only played a few matches and there is just something lacking. I am not saying that it is bad or anything like that. Once I entered the first match I was very impressed with how good the game looked, but there was nothing wowing me while I actually played it. To be fair to the guys and gals at DICE I feel that Battlefield is the kind of game that you really have to spend more than just a couple of hours with to get to grips with so I am not going to be too harsh on it.

I just feel that DICE and EA really needed the reception of the Battlefield 5 open beta to be better than it is. Especially given how well the Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 beta went over with fans.

Battlefield 5 is still a game that is on my pre-order list. I have heard some people say that they are holding off on getting the game or canceling their pre-order. I though am still very interested to get my hands of the full experience.

New Call Of Duty WWII Community Event Covert Storm

New Call Of Duty WWII Community Event Covert Storm

We get the first image of the Blackout map for Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII and now we have a new community event called, Covert Storm to play in WWII!

The Covert Storm event came out of nowhere and as usual, there is some great stuff up for grabs for those who take part. As usual, there are the community challenges that we have to do in order to earn this cool stuff, but what cool gear can we get in Call Of Duty WWII Covert Storm I hear you ask!

Three New Prototype Weapons

That is right, three new secret and powerful weapons have been uncovered and this event is the only way to get them. The weapons up for grabs are a VMG 1927 light machine gun, AS-44 assault rifle, and the awesome looking Proto X-1 submachine gun.

Animated Camo

There is this really weird and cool looking animated camo as well. I have to be honest and say that this is not my cup of tea, but I can see why others would be interested in this.

In all honesty, this community event looks a little less spectacular than the past ones, but to be fair all the attention right now is on Black Ops IIII so I can see why they would not have gone as all in with this one as the past events. Still, it is going to be a lot of fun to play and it is going to be running until the 25th of September so you have plenty of time to earn those rewards.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII New Blackout Maps Revealed

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout Maps Revealed

The official Call Of Duty Twitter account has shared the first picture of the map that we will be playing on in the new Blackout mode in Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII.

The map looks huge! We already knew that it was going to be the biggest map in Call Of Duty history, but to be honest with you I was not actually expecting something this large. The map that they have shown lists some of the main areas, like what the map in Fortnite does.

The ones that are shown on this map are.

Construction Site

Hydro Dam

Train Station

Firing Range

Asylum

Array

Rivertown

Fracking Tower

Cargo Docks

Turbine

Nuketown Island

There are lots of smaller areas in between these main ones too. I think that Nuketown having its very own little island to the left of the map is very interesting. Nuketown is one of the most popular Call Of Duty maps of all time so perhaps they did this thinking putting it here would force players not to try and spend the whole game just here?

It is very impressive how large this map is and in the coming weeks I am sure they will be letting us know what to expect in these main areas. Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is going to be a huge hit and I think Blackout mode is a major reason for that. One other thing I want to mention is the timing of this “news” Activision literally dropped this less than 24 hours before the Battlefield V beta went live! No doubt this was a shot across the bow for the folks at EA from Activision.

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout Mode To Support 80 Players

Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout Mode To Support 80 Players

For a while now Call Of Duty fans had wondered how many players would the new Battle Royale mode, Blackout support in Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII. I had heard all kinds of rumors ranging from 50, 64 to 100 players. Well, Activision has now come out and said what the number is going to be.

That number is 80. I think this is a pretty good number, but people seem to be losing their minds over it saying stuff like “Call Of Duty Blackout mode only supports 80 players”. I keep seeing the word only thrown about. In all honesty, I think that 80 is a pretty good number and more than enough. I really do not think adding an extra 20 to round it up to 100 would have much if any difference to the overall experience.

Speaking of the overall experience that is the reason why they decided to go for 80.

“What’s really more important to us than a number is that the gameplay experience is as refined as it can be, that’s it the ideal perfect format for what players are going to play.”

Is what one of the studio heads at Treyarch, Dan Bunting had to say. I actually agree with him. The number on the screen really does not matter if the game is fun. They have said that they are starting with 80 players and I think them using the term starting is key here as they could very well make it so more can play at a later date.

The Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Blackout mode beta is happening very soon and I would love to know if other people are happy with it being for 80 players or if you feel that is not enough.

What Is Grand Operations In Battlefield V

What Is Grand Operations In Battlefield V?

The Battlefield V open beta is just a couple of days away as I write this. The open beta is going to last for the better part of a week and the most exciting part of it is getting the chance to play a new game mode called Grand Operations.

What is Grand Operations? Well, it is a pretty awesome mode that is for 64 players. The idea of the mode is that it is set over a four day period and each day is a match. Each day will offer different objectives so there will be different modes on the different days. I think it sounds very interesting and I can see a game of Grand Operations lasting quite a while with two skilled teams.

One of the things that I was not aware of until today was that what you do on one day can affect the next day. For example, if one day you are required to take out some anti-air guns or blow up a building and you do not manage to do it. Well, this could have a dire effect on your team the next day and make things more difficult. It adds a real strategic element to it and one that I am sure some teams will be able to exploit very well.

Of course, Grand Operations is not all the Battlefield V open beta is about, but it is the mode that I and from what I have read many other people are most excited to play.

Early Thoughts On Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Beta

Early Thoughts On Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII Beta

If you are a PlayStation 4 owner and a Call Of Duty fan then no doubt over the past weekend you had some fun with the PlayStation exclusive beta that took place. I thought I would share a few of my thoughts on the beta. Please note I am not going into super detail about the different specialists (of which there after 10 in the beta) more on just the general feel of Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII in its current state.

I was one of the people that loved the over the top balls to the wall jetpack flying style of Infinite and Advanced Warfare. However, I also enjoyed the slower “boots on the ground” style that Call Of Duty WWII brought back. I think the best way to describe Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is that it is kind of in the middle.

I would say that it is even reigned in a little bit from what Call Of Duty Black Ops III offered. The matches are very fast paced and that I think is what makes Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII so much fun. There are five maps in the Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII beta and these maps are smaller than what I expected. However, I actually think that this works in the games advantage. The reason for this is the matches tend to be very, very quick and full of action. There is very little breathing room in a match in Black Ops IIII and that works in its favor immensely.

While I was only able to spend a couple of hours with Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII (stupid life getting in the way). I really enjoyed what I played and I look forward to getting more hands on with the different specialists to see what one fits my style.

I got the sense that Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII is the kind of game were past COD fans can slip right in. Yet new players to the series who have been wowed by the action packed trailers will be able to easily slip right in and learn the basics.

Battlefield V Beta News

Battlefield V Beta News

The Battlefield V open beta is nearly here, or if you have pre-ordered the game then I guess it could be technically already here for you by the time you read this. Anyway, some pretty interesting news about the Battlefield V open beta has been revealed.

First of all, PlayStation 4 owners can pre-download the open beta right now. The size of the download is 14.8 GB which in all honesty is not that bad and actually less than I thought it would be. Which is good news for Mortal Kombat XL on my PS4 as that was going to be the game that got the chop. The Battlefield V open beta starts on the 6th of September, but for you folks who pre-ordered it, you can experience it from the 4th.

Another interesting piece of Battlefield V beta news comes from the PC version of the beta. On Twitter, it was revealed that the PC version of the Battlefield V beta is going to have a profanity filter. I will be honest I am not entirely sure exactly how this is going to work and why it is a PC only thing. From what people are saying, you are going to be able to mute certain players and not the whole chat. This is good if you find yourself having a good game with good people, but then having to deal with one person being a total jerk.

Battlefield V looks like it is going to be awesome and there is not another first person shooter that looks to be as stacked with content this holiday season as it. I for one am very excited to get to spend a little bit of time with Battlefield V.

What Does Battlefield V Delayed Release Date Mean

What Does Battlefield V’s Delayed Release Date Mean?

In case you have not heard the news let me tell you. Battlefield V has had its scheduled October release date put back a few weeks to the 20th of November.

In all honesty, I do not find this all that surprising at all. Industry analysts predicted that it would be Battlefield V that would disappoint in terms of the big triple A titles coming in October. It was going up against Call Of Duty Black Ops IIII and Red Dead Redemption II as well as a few other big hitters like WWE 2K19 and Assassins Creed Odyssey to name a few.

Laura Miele one of the higher-ups at EA had this to say,

“We've had valuable feedback from our community, and we're going to take the time to make some final adjustments and deliver a great experience for our fans”

So while it sounds like they are “fixing” things in the game. To me, I feel that the real reason is clearly to try and avoid direct competition with Call Of Duty and Red Dead. It is a smart move, but EA has actually seen their share prices take a bit of a beating as a result and also their expected earnings for the year 2019 have been reduced from $5.5 billion to $5.3 billion. Now, sure $5.2 billion is no small chunk of change so it is very hard to feel sorry for EA. However, with the disaster that was the Star Wars Battlefront II launch, EA and DICE have to get Battlefield V right.

I think that the delay could work out very well for Battlefield V. The hype for Black Ops IIII and Red Dead Redemption II may have died down a little and Battlefield V can feel like the next big thing all on its own without all those other triple A titles that are dropping in October.

Call Of Duty Blackout Beta Will Last For Ten Days

Call Of Duty Blackout Beta Will Last For Ten Days

The retailer GAME, which is a European gaming retailer has leaked some information about the Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout beta that is starting soon.

As we all know, PlayStation 4 Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 players are getting to play the beta first on the 10th of September. Xbox One and PC owners are getting in on the action of the 14th of September.

What is most surprising about this “leak” is that the beta is scheduled to end on the 17th of September. This means that PlayStation 4 owners are going to get to play the beta for a full week before it disappears! This is pretty crazy and it seems like a very long time for a beta to run. Xbox and PC owners will get four days which is pretty much the standard for a beta.

We knew when the start date for the Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 Blackout mode beta was taking place, but GAME (specifically GAME from Spain) are the first ones to come out and give the end date for the beta.

Please remember that this is not an open beta and it is only available if you have a code. You can get the code by pre-ordering Call Of Duty Black Ops 4. Also if you look around some sites will be given codes for the Blackout beta away. This way even if you have not pre-ordered the game, you can still check out the Blackout beta.
